Over the past few years, the IVF program has been very popular not only abroad, but also in Ukraine. It has helped thousands of infertile couples find the happiness of motherhood and fatherhood. Modern reproductive technologies have truly become salvation for those spouses who, over the years, have lost all hope of having their own children.
What determines the success of IVF?
A woman’s age is one of the important factors influencing the success of an IVF program. The fact is that the ovarian reserve and the quality of eggs are decreasing every year. Therefore, after 35, the effectiveness of IVF programs decreases, therefore, experts advise to do IVF before one reaches 35 years of age. However, this does not mean that artificial insemination is impossible after 35. It is just that the probability of successful conception and bearing of a baby decreases. Serious risks can arise, which can of course be prevented if you do everything in time and follow the doctor’s recommendations.
Also, the result of IVF is influenced by the presence of diseases of the reproductive system. Therefore, it is important to undergo a comprehensive medical examination before artificial insemination.
It is important to know that the older a woman is, the more eggs will be needed to conceive and give birth to a healthy child.
Late pregnancy is fraught with various complications:
• chromosomal abnormalities of the fetus;
• miscarriage;
• transmission of genetic diseases to the fetus.
If a woman’s ovarian reserve is exhausted, and she does not have her own eggs, then she can become a mother only using donor oocytes.
IVF is an effective treatment for infertility
If you are infertile, do not despair. Modern reproductive technologies do not stand still and offer effective solutions to the problems associated with the diagnosis of ‘infertility’.
If a woman wants to use her own eggs and take part in an in vitro fertilization program, then it is not worth postponing IVF until later. In order to have a better chance of success, it is advisable to carry out artificial insemination using the patient’s eggs before the age of 35, since the pregnancy rate after in vitro fertilization at the age of 40+ is approximately 9%.
If the first attempt at the IVF program was unsuccessful, the woman does not need to panic, she should calm down, undergo the necessary examination and, together with the attending physician, analyze the reasons for the failure so that the next time pregnancy occurs.
